Chocolate Chip Cheesecake
- 3/4 c. graham cracker crumbs
- 3/4 c. ground walnuts
- 3/4 c. butter or margarine, softened
- sugar
- 3 (8 oz.) pkg. cream cheese, softened
- 2 tsp. grated orange peel
- 3/4 tsp. almond extract
- 3 eggs
- 1 c. semi-sweet chocolate chips
- Knead with hand in a small bowl graham cracker crumbs, ground walnuts, 4 tablespoons butter and 2 tablespoons sugar until blended.
- Press crumb mixture onto bottom and half way up side of a 9 x 3-inch spring-form pan.
- Preheat oven to 325u0b0.
- In a large bowl with mixer at low speed, beat cream cheese and 1/2 cup butter until smooth.
- Add orange peel, almond extract, eggs and 1/2 cup sugar; beat until well blended, occasionally scraping bowl with a rubber spatula.
- Fold in chocolate pieces.
- Spoon into pan.
- Bake for 1 hour.
- Cool and cover; refrigerate for at least 4 hours.
- To serve, carefully remove side of pan from cheese cake.
- Serves about 16 (approximately 380 calories).
