Spicy Satsuma-age--Goes Great with Rice!
- 3 Satsuma-age
- 2 tsp Soy sauce
- 2 tsp Mirin
- 1 tbsp Sugar
- 1/2 tsp Doubanjiang (or see hints below)
- 1 Sesame oil
- Pour boiled water over the satsuma-age to remove the excess oil.
- Cut into 2-3mm strips and set aside.
- Combine the ingredients.
- Heat the sesame oil in a pan and add the satsuma-age from Step 1.
- Once it's lightly browned, add the mixture.
- Here is a chikuwa variation
satsumaage, soy sauce, mirin, sugar, sesame oil
