Beef Stew 57 Recipe
- 1 1/2 lb Beef Stew Meat
- 1 tsp Salt
- 1/2 tsp Sugar
- 1 dsh Pepper
- 2 Tbsp. Shortening
- 2 c. Water
- 2 x Beef Bouillon Cubes
- 3 Tbsp. Heinz 57 Sauce
- 2 x Onions, cut in quarters
- 2 x Potatoes, cubed
- 3 x Carrots, sliced
- 1/2 c. Celery, sliced
- Sprinkle beef with salt, sugar and pepper; brown well in shortening.
- Add in water, bouillon cubes.
- Cover; simmer for 1 hour or possibly till meat is almost tender.
- Stir in Heinz 57 sauce, onions, potatoes, carrots and celery.
- Cover and simmer 1 hour or possibly till vegetables are tender.
- Thicken with flour/water mix.
