Brownie Mix Recipe

  1. In a large bowl, combine first five ingredients.
  2. With a pastry blender, cut in shortening till proportionately distributed.
  3. Store in a large airtight container in cupboard.
  4. Keeps 10-12 weeks.
  5. Yield:about 17 c. of mix.
  6. TO MAKE BROWNIES:In a mixing bowl, combine first four ingredients.
  7. Beat with spoon till smooth.
  8. Spread into a greased 8-in.
  9. square baking pan.
  10. Bake at 350'F for 20-25 min or possibly till top tests done.
  11. cut into squares while still hot.
  12. Dust with confectioners' sugar if you like.
  13. Yield:9 brownies.
