Brownie Mix Recipe
- 6 c. all-purpose flour
- 4 tsp baking pwdr
- 4 tsp salt
- 8 c. sugar
- 1 can (8 ounces) baking cocoa
- 2 c. vegetable shortening
- 2 1/2 c. brownie mix
- 2 x Large eggs, beaten
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/2 c. minced nuts optional Confectioners' sugar, optional
- In a large bowl, combine first five ingredients.
- With a pastry blender, cut in shortening till proportionately distributed.
- Store in a large airtight container in cupboard.
- Keeps 10-12 weeks.
- Yield:about 17 c. of mix.
- TO MAKE BROWNIES:In a mixing bowl, combine first four ingredients.
- Beat with spoon till smooth.
- Spread into a greased 8-in.
- square baking pan.
- Bake at 350'F for 20-25 min or possibly till top tests done.
- cut into squares while still hot.
- Dust with confectioners' sugar if you like.
- Yield:9 brownies.
