Amaretto Compote Recipe

  1. In a medium saucepan combine water, prunes, and apricots.
  2. Bring to a boil.
  3. Remove from heat and let stand for 15 minutes.
  4. Drain, reserving 1/2 c. liquid.
  5. Leave prunes and apricots on the side.
  6. In the 1/2 c. liquid, combine pears, Amaretto, sugar and lemon peel.
  7. Cover and simmer 10 min till the pears are crisp-tender.
  8. Stir in prunes and apricots and heat through.
  9. Serve hot over vanilla ice-cream or possibly frzn yogurt.
  10. Also makes a wonderful topping for lb.
