Ancho Chili Sauce

  1. Preparation:.
  2. Soak ancho peppers in hot water for 15 minutes.
  3. remove stems and seeds; chop.
  4. Saute chopped chilis and onions in vegetable oil until tender.
  5. Add the tomatoes, raisins, cumin, oregano, and chicken broth; simmer 10 minutes longer.
  6. Transfer to a blender and blend until sauce is smooth.
