Konnyaku and Beef (or Pork) Spicy Stir-Fry
- 1 Konnyaku
- 100 grams Thinly sliced beef (or pork)
- 1/3 to 1/2 teaspoon Dashi stock granules
- 1 tbsp each Cooking sake, soy sauce, mirin
- 1 tsp Sugar
- 1/2 to 1 Red chili pepper
- 1 White sesame seeds
- 1 Vegetable oil
- Massage the konnyaku well with your hands to tenderize it.
- You can also accomplish this task by bashing it lightly with a rolling pin.
- Rip into bite-sized pieces with your hands or a spoon.
- Add a little salt to water Boil the konnyaku.
- Drain over a strainer.
- There's no need to soak the konnyaku in water.
- Cut the beef into bite-sized pieces.
- Dry-stir fry the konnyaku in a frying pan without any oil.
- When the moisture has completely evaporated the the surface has hardened a bit, add some vegetable oil and the chili pepper, and stir fry.
- Add the beef, and when it's changed color add the ingredients and simmer.
- Add the sesame seeds and it's done.
- (If using pork, cook it completely before adding the ingredients.)
