Grandma A's Spinach Casserole
- 1 (10 ounce) box frozen chopped spinach
- 1 (10 1/2 ounce) can cream of mushroom soup
- 2 tablespoons melted margarine
- 12 cup grated sharp cheddar cheese
- 1 small onion, minced
- 1 egg, beaten
- 1 12 cups prepared stuffing
- 2 tablespoons finely chopped onions
- 14 cup chopped celery
- 2 tablespoons margarine
- 1 12 cups bread cubes
- 13 teaspoon salt
- 14 teaspoon sage
- 14 teaspoon thyme
- 1 dash pepper
- Cook spinach.
- Drain, saving liquid to use in preparing boxed stuffing.
- Mix spinach, soup, onion, butter, cheese, and egg.
- Add stuffing.
- Place in 1 quart casserole and top with grated cheese.
- Bake uncovered at 350* for 30 - 45 minutes.
- To prepare stuffing from scratch- Saute onions and celery in skillet with margarine until tender.
- Toss together with remaining ingredients.
