Old-Fashion Strawberry-Orange Soda

  1. Put berries in blender and process; strain for smooth puree.

  3. Make simple syrup: combine sugar and water in small saucepan.
  4. Heat over low heat, and stir until sugar is completely dissolved.
  5. Increase heat to medium-high and bring to boil.
  6. Reduce heat to low, and cook 3-5 minutes.
  7. Cool.
  8. Add 1/2 cup of syrup.
  9. Stir in juices; add soda to taste.
  10. Rest of syrup can stay in refrigerator, in very clean glass jar, for two weeks.
  11. Can be used as you would other sweeteners.
  12. * using 2 cups diced strawberries would be a good starting point.
