Cottage Herb Rolls
- 1 pkg. active dry yeast
- 1/4 c. warm water
- 2 1/2 c. flour
- 1/4 c. sugar
- 1 tsp. oregano
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1/2 c. cold margarine
- 1 c. cottage cheese
- 1 egg, beaten
- melted butter or margarine
- Dissolve yeast in warm water.
- In large bowl, combine flour, sugar, oregano and salt.
- Mix well.
- Cut in cold margarine until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- Blend in cheese, egg and yeast. Turn out on well floured surface.
- Knead.
- Shape into ball.
- Place in well-greased bowl.
- Brush top with melted margarine; cover. Let rise until doubled.
- Punch down.
- Shape as desired.
- Brush with melted margarine; cover.
- Let rise again until nearly doubled.
- Bake at 375u0b0 for 12 to 15 minutes.
- Serve warm.
- Yield: 1 1/2 to 2 dozen.
