Salisbury Steak My Style

  1. STEAKS.
  2. mix the ground beef, v8, salt, pepper, italian seasoning, dried onions, garlic powder, egg bread crumbs and Worcestershire sauce together in a medium bowl.
  3. form into 6 oval patties about 1/2 inch thick.
  4. cover and let sit in refrigerator for 3-4 hours.
  5. after refrigeration heat 2 tbs oil in a saute pan.
  6. add 3 steaks at a time and brown on both sides until just cooked through.
  7. remove steaks and add to gravy pan.
  8. repeate the previous 2 steps with the remaning steaks.
  9. let steaks simmer in gravy for 20 minutes.
  10. GRAVY.
  11. in the mean time slice yellow onion into thin rings.
  12. saute onion rings in 2 tbsp olive oil on low heat until very soft.
  13. add mushrooms
  14. melt butter in the pan and add flour creating a roux.
  15. turn heat up to high.
  16. whisk in beef broth until lump free.
  17. turn heat down to low and simmer.
