Sophie's Italian Turkey, bacon and cheese meatballs with tomato sauce
- 500 grams lean Turkey mince
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/2 cup milk
- 4 bacon rashers, cooked, cooled and chopped.
- 100 grams grated cheese
- 1 tsp chili powder
- 2 tsp garlic paste
- 1 tsp mixed herbs
- 1 egg
- 1 can chopped tomatoes
- 1/2 vegetable stock cube
- 1 tsp garlic puree
- 1 tsp mixed herbs
- 1 Finely chopped cooked onion
- Preheat oven to 180C.
- Mix milk and breadcrumbs, and leave for 5 minutes.
- Add the rest of your meatball ingredients and mix gently.
- Shape into balls - you should be able to get 5 or 6 per portion.
- Bake for approximately 30 minutes, or until they start to turn golden.
- For the sauce: Mix all ingredients in a saucepan and heat.
- I like to blend mine to make it smooth, but that's up to you.
- Add your cooked meatballs to your sauce, and heat gently for a further 10 minutes.
- Serve with pasta and enjoy!
