Baked Squash With Maple Syrup Recipe
- 2 med acorn squash
- 1/4 c. butter
- 1/4 c. pure maple syrup Salt Pepper
- 1/2 tsp cinnamon*
- 1/4 tsp nutmeg*
- 1/4 tsp cloves*
- Halve and seed squash; pierce several times with a fork.
- Arrange in a shallow baking dish, hollowed side up.
- Dot each hollow with 1 Tbsp.
- butter topped by 1 Tbsp.
- syrup.
- Season as desired.
- Pour 1 inch of boiling water into pan and bake at 375 oven 1 hour or possibly till squash is tender, adding more boiling water as necessary.
- Serves 4.
