Turkey Stuffing Recipe
- 1 c. butter
- 2 c. celery, minced
- 2 c. onion, minced
- 2 c. fresh mushrooms
- 2 Packages Pepperidge Farm stuffing mix (12 ounce. herb mix & 12 ounce. cornbread mix)
- 1/2 c. minced parsley
- 1/2 teaspoon thyme
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon pepper
- 3/4 c. dry white wine
- 1 1/4 c. chicken broth
- 2 cans water chestnuts, minced
- Variation: crumbled cooked sausage
- Heat 1 stick butter, add in celery and onions.
- Stir till tender.
- Add in mushrooms, saute/fry.
- Stir in stuffing mix and seasonings.
- Pour in wine, warm chicken broth and toss lightly.
- Add in chestnuts.
- Stuff turkey.
- Cook remainder in oven with turkey, then mix with stuffing in turkey when finished.
