Chinese Steak And Onions Recipe
- 1 1/2 lbs. sirloin steak
- 5 tbsp. vegetable oil
- 4 c. sliced onions
- 1/2 teaspoon sugar
- 2 tbsp. soy sauce
- 2 tbsp. dry sherry
- 2 tbsp. corn starch
- Cut steak into narrow slices.
- Heat half of the oil in a skillet and saute/fry the onions for 3 min.
- Add in the sugar, 1 Tbsp.
- of soy sauce, 1 Tbsp.
- sherry; cook a few seconds.
- Remove onion mix.
- Toss the steak with cornstarch, remaining soy sauce, and sherry.
- Heat remaining oil in a skillet and brown steak.
- Return onions to pan and cook for 2 min.
