Home-Style Shepherd's Pie

  1. Melt 1 Tbsp.
  2. butter in Dutch oven or large deep skillet on medium heat.
  3. Add meat; cook 5 min.
  4. or until evenly browned on all sides, stirring frequently.
  5. Add onions, carrots and celery; cook and stir 2 min.
  6. Add gravy mix and bouillon granules; mix well.
  7. Stir in water and wine.
  8. Bring to boil; cover.
  9. Simmer on medium-low heat 1-1/2 hours or until meat is tender, stirring occasionally.
  10. Microwave potatoes as directed on package; place in large bowl.
  11. Add remaining butter and milk; mash until of desired consistency.
  12. Heat broiler.
  13. Spoon meat mixture into 1-1/2 qt.
  14. casserole sprayed with cooking spray; top with potatoes and cheese.
  15. Broil, 6 inches from heat, 2 to 4 min.
  16. or until cheese is melted.
