Hillbilly Hotdogs
- 8 whole Hotdogs, Grilled
- 8 whole Hotdog Buns, Buttered And Toasted Before Serving
- 1 whole Sweet Onion, Finely Chopped
- 10 ounces, weight Cole Slaw, The Finer The Better! (or Make Your Own)
- Yellow Mustard, To Taste
- 1 pound Ground Beef
- 1 cup Ketchup, Or More To Achieve The Right Sauce Consistancy
- 1 teaspoon Onion Powder, Or More To Taste
- 1/2 teaspoons Chili Powder (more If You Like It Spicy)
- 1 teaspoon Garlic Powder, Or More To Taste
- Chili recipe: Place ground beef in a saucepan, fill with water, until meat is barely covered.
- Boil uncovered on medium heat about 25 minutes, or until meat is done and boiled down.
- (a small amount of liquid should be left) Add ketchup, onion powder, chili powder and garlic salt to taste.
- It is really a mild, fine chili sauce, so dont make it too thick.
- Simmer for a while longer so that the flavors can really cook together.
- Grill hotdogs in a skillet or grill pan over medium-high heat until they reach your desired level of brown on the outside.
- Grill the hotdog buns on the same pan, with a little butter on the insides if you like.
- Serve grilled hotdogs on warm, butter toasted bun, topped with coleslaw, mustard, onions and warm chili sauce on top.
- Dig in!
