Flora's Kentucky Hot Brown
- 4 Slices of Texas toast
- 8 Slices of Bacon
- 1 1/2 tbsp butter
- 1 1/2 tbsp all-purpose flour
- 1 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1 1/2 cup parmesan cheese
- 4 Slices of tomato
- 1 paprika
- 1/2 lb of good quality turkey lunchmeat
- In a skillet brown your bacon until crispy.
- For the cheese sauce combine butter and flour in a saucepan and cook until thickened approximately 2 minutes.
- Slowly add the cream to the butter and flour and whisk until the cream starts to simmer.
- Remove from burner and add 1/4 cup of the parmesan cheese.
- Stir to incorporate.
- In a 13X9 pan lay out the 4 slices of bread.
- Place several pieces of turkey on each slice.
- Then lay your tomato slices on the turkey.
- I did half with and half without, since my husband doesnt like it.
- Coat with the cheese sauce
- Add the remaining parmesan cheese on top of the sandwiches
- Pop under the broiler until golden brown.
- To serve top with 2 crisscrossed pieces of bacon and sprinkle with paprika.
