Peppermint Cookie Canes Recipe

  1. Combine butter, sugar, egg, vanilla, and peppermint.
  2. Stir in flour and salt.
  3. Divide dough in half; work food color into 1/2.
  4. Refrigerate1/2 hour.
  5. Shape 1 tsp.
  6. dough from each half into thin rope about 4 inches long.
  7. Place one light and one pink rope side by side and twist together.
  8. Place on ungreased baking sheet and curve top to create a cane.
  9. Bake at 375 degrees 8-10 min till set.
  10. While still hot dust with sugar.
