Italian herbesan Bread
- 1 cup warm water
- 1 12 teaspoons dry yeast (or 1 packet)
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 garlic clove, minced
- 1 tablespoon italian seasoning
- 14 cup finely grated parmesan cheese
- 3 cups flour, and enough more to knead into dough
- Mix warm water, yeast, and sugar in large mixing bowl.
- Let stand for 15 minutes.
- Mince garlic.
- Saute garlic in olive oil, let cool.
- When garlic/oil is cooled, add to yeast mixture.
- Add salt, Italian seasoning and Parmesan cheese and mix well.
- Add 3 cups flour and mix.
- Knead enough flour into mix to make dough consistency.
- Cover baking stone lightly in cornmeal or grease a loaf pan.
- Form a ball and place on stone, or form a loaf and place in loaf pan.
- Spray saran wrap with cooking spray and cover dough.
- Cover with a hand towel.
- Let dough rise until doubled in size (1 to 1-1/2 hours).
- Uncover and bake 25-30 minutes at 375F.
