Muesli
- 1 cup old fashioned oats
- 14 cup raisins or 14 cup other dried fruit
- 1 teaspoon wheat bran (optional)
- 12 cup milk
- 1 tablespoon walnuts, chopped
- 2 tablespoons apples, chopped or 2 tablespoons other fresh fruit
- 2 tablespoons vanilla yogurt
- cinnamon (optional)
- Mix the oats, dried fruit, and wheat bran with enough milk to cover the oats.
- Any dried fruit will work just fine.
- I love dried cherries in muesli.
- My husband uses soy milk rather than cows milk.
- Soak the mixture for at least 30 minutes but preferably overnight.
- In the morning, drain off the milk.
- Scoop enough muesli in a bowl for one serving.
- Top with walnuts, yogurt, and any fresh fruit.
- Strawberries and peaches are also very yummy in muesli.
- Sometimes I top it with a dash of cinnamon and a drizzle of honey.
- All of these measurements are approximate.
- Use your judgment.
- I like to make enough for about 3 days so it is relatively fresh when I eat it.
