Corn Dogs

  1. In a large bowl combine milk, eggs, oil, sugar and salt.
  2. Mix very well.
  3. Sprinkle in baking powder, cornmeal and flour.
  4. Stir to make slightly thick batter.
  5. Dry hot dogs on paper towels.
  6. Dust with flour, coating completely.
  7. Shove sticks in flour coated dogs.
  8. Set aside.
  9. Heat oil to 375*.
  10. Scoop batter into tall, narrow jar or cup.
  11. Fill about 3/4 full.
  12. Dip and swirl to coat evenly.
  13. Raise dog and let excess batter drip off.
  14. Place quickly into hot fat.
  15. Fry 1 or 2 at a time.
  16. "DON'T CROWD".
  17. Turn with tongs when bottom side is brown.
  18. Remove and drain.
