Brie with Pecan Syrup
- 1/2 cups Pecans
- 1/4 cups Kahlua
- 2 Tablespoons Brown Sugar
- 1 whole Wheel Of Brie
- Put pecans in a small saucepan over medium low heat to toast.
- Toast pecans for 2-3 minutes, careful not to burn.
- Once pecans are toasted, add the brown sugar and Kahlua to the pan with the pecans, mix until combined.
- Allow ingredients to melt over the heat, 2-3 minutes.
- Scrape top of wheel of brie with a fork, just to rough up the surface and remove some of the rind.
- Place brie into a lipped dish (like a pie plate), top with the pecan mixture.
- Microwave brie in 30 second increments until soft, but not oozing out (it usually takes me 3-4 30-second go-rounds in the microwave).
- Serve with crackers.
- (I like to serve with buttery crackers like Club Crackers, or with Plain Water Crackers)
- Tip for Taking to a Party: When I take this to a party, I take the brie, the dish, and the premade pecan mixture all separate.
- Then I assemble it at the party.
- It is fine to keep the pecan mixture at room temperature once it is made.
