Chili
- 1- 1/2 pound Ground Beef Or Turkey
- Salt And Pepper
- 2 teaspoons Dried Oregano, Divided
- 1 whole Onion, Chopped
- 1 whole Green Pepper, Cored, Seeds Removed, Diced
- 1 whole Jalapeno, Diced
- 1 can Pinto Beans (rinsed) (10 Ounce Can)
- 1 can (15 Oz. Size) Black Beans, Rinsed
- 2 cans (15 Oz. Size) Tomato Sauce
- 1 can Tomato Soup, 10 Ounce Can
- 2 cans (15 Oz. Size) Stewed Tomatoes Cut Up
- 1 Tablespoon Cumin
- 2 teaspoons Dried Basil
- 1 teaspoon All Spice
- 3 Tablespoons Chili Powder
- In a large stock pot brown meat over medium high heat.
- While the meat is browning add a little salt, pepper and 1 teaspoon of oregano.
- Cook 2 minutes and add chopped onion, green pepper and jalapeno.
- Once it is cooked all the way through (about 5 minutes), add rinsed beans, tomato sauce, tomato soup, stewed tomatoes (I chop them roughly in the can with scissors) and the rest of the spices.
- Season with a little more salt and pepper and simmer for 1 hour.
- Taste and add more seasoning if needed.
