Easy caramel corn

  1. In large pot combine sugar,butter,corn syrup,and salt on medium heat.
  2. Bring it to boil.
  3. When you see large bubbles, start the timer for 5 minutes.
  4. Do not stir mixture after this point!
  5. Lay down some wax paper on the counter.
  6. When the 5 minutes is up, remove from heat.
  7. Add the baking soda.
  8. Don't be alarmed when/if it starts to froth.
  9. Mix the popcorn into the caramel by adding handfuls at a time.
  10. (Dont actually touch the caramel it's hot!)
  11. You don't want to pour it because you don't want the unpopped kernels breaking your teeth off!
  12. Mix until the popcorn is well coated and then spread it all on the wax paper.
  13. Break it up with your spatula as you go.
  14. When it cools you can use your hands to break it apart into bitesize pieces.
  15. Store in airtight container.
