Brown Sugar Hard Sauce

  1. Stir brown sugar and 3 tablespoons rum in heavy small saucepan over medium-low heat until sugar dissolves.
  2. Mix in tangerine peel.
  3. Cool to room temperature.
  4. Using electric mixer, beat butter in medium bowl until light.
  5. Add remaining 1 tablespoon rum, brown sugar mixture and powdered sugar and beat until well blended and smooth.
  6. (Can be prepared 1 week ahead.
  7. Cover and refrigerate.
  8. Bring to room temperature before serving.)
