Pineapple Angel Food Refrigerator Dessert Recipe
- 2 Packages unflavored gelatin
- 1/2 c. cool water
- 3 egg yolks
- 2 c. lowfat milk
- 1 c. sugar
- 1 (1 lb.) can crushed pineapple
- 3 egg whites, stiffly beaten
- 10 marshmallows, quartered
- 1/2 c. walnuts, minced
- 1 Angel Food cake, baked
- Soften 2 pkgs.
- of unflavored gelatin in 1/2 c. cool water.
- Beat 3 egg yolks till thick.
- Ad 2 c. lowfat milk and 1 c. sugar and beat thoroughly.
- Cook this custard till it coats the spoon.
- Add in the softened gelatin and stir till dissolved; cold.
- To the custard, add in 1 lb.
- can of crushed pineapple.
- mix in 3 stiffly beaten egg whites, 10 marshmallows, quartered and 1/2 c. walnuts, minced.
- Break an Angel Food cake into small pcs.
- Line a 9 x 13 inch pan with the cake pcs.
- our 1/2 of the gelatin mix over the cake crumbs.
- Add in more cake pcs and then pour the rest of the gelatin mix over it.
- Sprinkle a dusting of graham cracker crumbs over the top to decorate if you like.
- Chill.
- Top slices with whipped cream.
