Harvest-Time Apple Bars
- 2 cups flour
- 1 cup packed brown sugar
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar, divided
- 1-1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon
- 1/2 cup cold butter
- 1 cup chopped walnuts
- 1 pkg. (250 g) Philadelphia Brick Cream Cheese, softened
- 2 Tbsp. milk
- 1 egg, beaten
- 1/2 tsp. vanilla
- 3-1/2 cups chopped cooking apples
- Heat oven to 350F.
- Combine flour, brown sugar, 1/2 cup granulated sugar and cinnamon in large bowl.
- Cut in butter with pastry blender or 2 knives until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- Stir in nuts.
- Reserve 2 cups crumb mixture; press remaining onto bottom of 13x9-inch pan sprayed with cooking spray.
- Beat cream cheese and milk in medium bowl with mixer until blended.
- Add remaining granulated sugar, egg and vanilla; mix well.
- Pour over crust.
- Top with apples and reserved crumb mixture.
- Bake 30 min.
- Cool completely before cutting into bars.
