Seasoned Chicken Fried Steaks

  1. In a shallow bowl, combine 2 cups flour, baking powder, and seasonings.
  2. In another shallow bowl, combine eggs, and 1 cup buttermilk.
  3. Dip each cubed steak in buttermilk mixture, then roll in flour mixture, and let stand for 5 minutes.
  4. In a large skillet, heat 1/2 inch of oil on medium-high.
  5. Fry steaks for 5-7 minutes, and turn carefully.
  6. Cook 5 minutes longer or until coating is crisp and meat is no longer pink.
  7. Remove steaks and keep warm.
  8. Drain reserving 1/3 cup drippings, and stir remaining flour into drippings until smooth.
  9. Cook and stir over medium heat for 2 minutes.
  10. Gradually whisk in milk, and remaining buttermilk.
  11. Bring to a boil, and cook and stir for 2 minutes or until thickened.
  12. Serve with steaks.
