Pears With Ginger and Nuts

  1. In a heavy, small skillet combine pine nuts, sugar and cloves.
  2. Stir over medium low heat until sugar melts and pine nuts are golden.
  3. Set aside.
  4. In a large skillet melt butter over medium heat.
  5. Add apple juice, brown sugar and ginger and stir until the sugar dissolves.
  6. Add pears and cinnamon.
  7. Cook for 5 minutes, or until pears are tender.
  8. Serve hot over ice cream.
  9. Garnish with candied pine nuts.
