Washington Potatoes and Lettuce

  1. Dice bacon and fry slowly until crisp and brown.
  2. Pour off part of the fat and add the vinegar and sugar.
  3. Place potatoes in the bottom of large pot; cover with the shredded lettuce.
  4. Pour hot bacon and vinegar mixture over lettuce.
  5. Cover; let lettuce wilt some.
  6. Then stir and serve immediately.
