Stuffed Peppers

  1. This is easy to make and yummy!
  2. Cook the rice according to the package but dont cook it through.
  3. It has to be al dente.
  4. My package called for simmering for 20 minutes; I only did it for 15.
  5. Mince the garlic (we like garlic, but if you just want a little, you could use just one clove).
  6. Mix the ground beef, egg, garlic, thyme, sage, salt, pepper, and cooked rice.
  7. Mix it well!
  8. Cut the tops off the peppers and remove all the seeds.
  9. Stuff the peppers to the top.
  10. Cook uncovered in the oven at 350F for an hour to an hour and 15 minutes.
  11. My peppers were huge.
  12. For smaller ones, I would check after 45 minute to an hour.
  13. You can heat some spaghetti sauce and put it on top of the pepper after youve plated.
  14. You could put cheese on top, too.
  15. Notes: I put 4 peppers in the ingredients, but the peppers I bought were huge.
  16. If you cant find big ones, buy more.
  17. I bought Angus Lean ground beef.
  18. When it was cooked, there was NO grease at bottom of the dish and the beef retained the juice.
