Ginger Cookies

  1. Combine flour, ginger, baking soda, cinnamon, salt and cloves in medium bowl; set aside.
  2. Combine 1 cup sugar and butter in large bowl; beat at medium speed until well mixed.
  3. Add corn syrup and egg; continue beating until smooth.
  4. Stir in flour mixture until well mixed.
  5. Cover; refrigerate 1 hour or until chilled.
  6. Heat oven to 350F.
  7. Place 1/2 cup sugar in small bowl.
  8. Shape dough into 3/4-inch balls; roll in sugar.
  9. Place 2 inches apart onto greased cookie sheets.
  10. Bake 9-11 minutes or just until golden brown around edges.
  11. Remove to cooling racks.
