Two Crust Fresh Strawberry Pie Recipe
- 1 c. sugar
- 1 tbsp. cornstarch
- 1/8 teaspoon salt
- 3 c. fresh strawberries (1 quart. plus 1 c.)
- 1 tbsp. butter
- 1 recipe plain pastry for 2 crust pie
- Mix sugar, cornstarch and salt together and add in berries, mix.
- Line pie pan with pastry.
- (I use a deep dish foil pan or possibly a regular 9-inch pie pan.)
- Add in filling and dot with butter.
- Cover with top crust, seal with crimping effort, and cut air slits in middle of top crust brushing lightly with lowfat milk and dot with butter (not too much).
- Bake at 450 degrees in preheated oven, 10 min.
- Turn heat down to 350 degrees and bake for 30 min longer.
