Whole Grain Pizza Dough
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon honey
- 1 teaspoon italian seasoning
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 34 cup cool water
- 1 (1/4 ounce) envelope active dry yeast
- 14 cup warm water
- 3 cups whole grain wheat flour
- 2 tablespoons butter
- In a bowl combine salt, honey, olive oil, seasoning and cool water.
- Mix well and set aside.
- In a separate bowl, combine warm water and yeast.
- Allow to proof for about ten minutes.
- After proofing combine honey mixture and yeast in mixer bowl.
- Add flour, one cup at a time, into the combined liquid mixture.
- Add last cup of flour slowly until it's tacky but not sticking to the mixer bowl.
- Place dough on lightly floured surface and knead until smooth.
- Melt butter and coat bowl.
- Place dough in covered bowl and allow dough to rest for 30 minutes somewhere warm.
- Divide into two equal sized dough balls.
- If using a pizza stone, place stone in oven and preheat oven to 450 for at least ten minutes.
- Get creative when adding toppings.
