Left Bank Onion Burgers
- 1 pound Lean Hamburger
- 1 can (about 10 Oz. Can) Any Good Onion Soup
- 1 Tablespoon Wondra Flour
- 2 Tablespoons Worcestershire Sauce
- 4 slices American Cheese
- 4 whole Hamburger Buns
- Brown hamburger meat by breaking apart with a potato masher.
- Drain well.
- Add the Wondra flour and continue to cook for one to two minutes to cook off the flour taste.
- Add the Worcestershire sauce and the undiluted onion soup.
- Mix.
- Season with pepper to taste.
- Onion soup should be salty enough, but taste and add according to taste.
- Simmer on the stovetop till sauce has mostly evaporated and is thick.
- Spoon onto buns and top with a cheese slice.
- Place the burgers in a baking dish and bake in a hot oven at 350-400 degrees for approximately 15 minutes or until cheese is melted and the top bun is a little crispy to touch.
- Sometimes when making these for a crowd, we individually wrap each in foil to facilitate the ease of serving.
- Everyone grabs one or two and eats them from the foil package.
