Beef and Cabbage Stew

  1. Combine all ingredients except rice, cornstarch, water, salt and pepper; cover and cook on low 6-8 hours, adding rice during last 2 hours.
  2. Turn heat to high and cook 10 minutes; stir in combined cornstarch and water, stirring 2-3 minutes.
  3. Season to taste with salt and pepper.
