Chocolate-Almond Sauce

  1. Stir sugar and 1/4 cup water in heavy small saucepan over low heat until sugar dissolves.
  2. Add cream; bring to boil.
  3. Remove from heat; add chocolate and whisk until melted and smooth.
  4. Whisk in almond extract and salt.
  5. Stir in almonds.
  6. Divide sauce between two 8-ounce canning jars; seal with lids.
  7. (Can be made 2 weeks ahead; refrigerate.
  8. Rewarm over medium-low heat, stirring constantly.)
