Homemade Kahlua

  1. Bring water and sugar to a rolling boil in large pot.
  2. Stir and boil 2 minutes.
  3. Add coffee granules.
  4. Remove from heat, stir until well dissolved.
  5. Let cool completely.
  6. Add vodka and vanilla, stirring well.
  7. Bottle in dark bottles, and store tightly capped for 2 weeks before using.
  8. Use as you would the commercial variety.
  9. We like it this way: add 1 jigger Kahlua and 1 jigger half-n-half to a mug and fill with hot coffee.
  10. Heavenly!
