Yakitori Sauce
- 50 ml Sake
- 50 ml Mirin
- 100 ml Soy sauce
- 4 tbsp Brown sugar crystals
- Heat the sake and mirin in a pot to boil off the alcohol.
- Turn off the heat, then add the soy sauce and brown sugar crystals.
- Simmer until reduced by 1/3.
- Heat the oven to 200C, line a baking sheet with kitchen parchment paper, and cook the yakitori for 6 minutes.
- Once 6 minutes have passed, pour on some sauce, cook for another 6 minutes, then pour on some more sauce.
- Cook for 3 minutes to finish!
- Transfer to a dish and the yakitori is finished!
- If you grill it just before eating, its even more delicious.
- Top the rice with some sauce, then top it with the yakitori.
- Garnish with shredded nori to complete a yakitori rice bowl.
