Slow Cook Apple Butter Chicken Sliders
- 2 whole Yellow Onions, Quartered
- 2 pounds Chicken Breast
- 2 cups Apple Juice
- 8 ounces, fluid Butter
- 1 teaspoon Cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoons Fresh Nutmeg
- 2 Tablespoons Brown Sugar
- 12 Slider Buns
- 2 cups Gruyere Cheese, Shredded
- 1 whole Granny Smith Apple
- Place onions into a crockpot and top with whole chicken breast.
- Pour over apple juice and add butter, cinnamon, nutmeg, and brown sugar.
- (Dont worry about mixing these together; once the crock pot heats up, they will all mix together and flavor the chicken.)
- Cook on low for 7 hours.
- Then remove the chicken from the crock pot, shred it and return to the crockpot for 1 more hour.
- Heat oven to 400 degrees F.
- Place slider bun bottoms on a baking sheet and top with some shredded chicken and onions.
- Then place an equal amount of cheese on each and bake in the oven for 35 minutes until cheese is melted and bubbling.
- Thinly slice granny smith apple (youll need one slice for each slider).
- Top each slider with an apple piece and the top slider bun.
- Serve immediately.
