Skinnied Down Onion Rings
- 1 whole Large Onion
- 1 cup Frank's Hot Sauce
- 2 teaspoons Whole Wheat Flour
- 1 whole Egg
- 2 cups Panko Bread Crumbs
- 1 dash Garlic Powder
- 1 dash Onion Powder
- Preheat oven to 450F.
- Line your baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Slice your onion rings.
- In one bowl combine Franks hot sauce with whole wheat flour and egg and mix together.
- The egg will help the batter stick better.
- In a different bowl add your panko bread crumbs, garlic powder and onion powderjust sprinkle some on top of the panko and mix in.
- Let your onion rings sit in the Franks for just a minute and shake off excess liquid and dip in the panko mix.
- Lay coated onion rings on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
- Before baking, spray with olive oil cooking spray.
- After 8 minutes, turn and spray the other side and bake for another 8 minutes.
- You may want to keep an eye on them; if you want them just a little crispier, you can leave them in an extra minute or two.
- Let them sit for 1 minute out of the oven and eat and enjoy.
- Note: oven temperatures vary so just check on them after around 7 minutes.
