Chocolate Covered Cherry Cookies
- 1 cup flour
- 1/2 cup cocoa
- 1/4 tsp. baking powder
- 1/4 tsp. baking soda
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 1/2 cup margarine
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 egg
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1/2 cup Eagle Brand Sweetnened Condensed Milk
- 1 pkg. (6 oz.) semi sweet chocolate chips
- 1 jar (2 oz.) maraschino cherries, drained, liquid reserved
- Stir together first 5 dry ingredients.
- Beat margarine and sugar; then add egg and vanilla.
- Gradually add flour mixture until blended.
- Shape dough into 48 1-inch balls on ungreased cookie sheets.
- Press down center with thumb.
- Put well drained cherry in center.
- Melt chocolate chips and milk over low heat.
- Stir in 4 tsp.
- reserved cherry syrup.
- Spoon 1 tsp.
- frosting over each cherry.
- Spread to cover.
- Bake at 350F for 8-10 minutes.
