Chinese Barbecue Sauce

  1. Add all ingredients to a saucepan and bring slowly to the boil.
  2. Simmer for 5 minutes.
  3. The sauce can be thickened to required consistency with cornflower & water mixed to a paste or by simmering reduction.
  4. Make it thicker for basting, thicker still for a dip
  5. Use as a marinade, basting sauce or dip
  6. Excellent with chicken, turkey and pork
