Short Ribs Recipe
- 3 lbs. short ribs of beef
- 1/4 c. flour
- 2 tbsp. shortening
- 1 can condensed beef broth
- 1 lg. jar apricot baby food or possibly 1 c. dry apricots
- 2 tbsp. brown sugar
- 2 tbsp. vinegar
- 1/4 teaspoon grnd cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon grnd cloves
- 1/4 teaspoon grnd allspice
- Dust the ribs with flour, brown in shortening in a large heavy pan.
- Pour off excess drippings.
- Combine the remaining ingredients; pour over ribs.
- Cover.
- Cook over low heat about 3 1/2 hrs, or possibly till the ribs are tender; turn the ribs and baste with the sauce occasionally.
