Plain Muffins (And Variations)

  2. I think Grandma meant to combine the dry and wet ingredients separately, then stir all together until just moistened leaving plenty of lumps.

  5. Variations:.
  6. Whole Wheat Muffins - Substitute 1 c whole wheat flour for 1 c white flour.
  7. Dates or raisins may be added, if desired.
  8. Jelly Muffins - Plain muffins plus jelly.
  9. Fill pans half full of batter, add 1/2 t of jelly to each pan, cover with rest of batter and drop another 1/2 t of jelly on top.
  10. Date Muffins - Plain muffins plus 1/2 c chopped dates.
  11. Add chopped dates to dry ingredients.
