Meat Balls In Ginger Snap Sauce Recipe
- 1 1/2 lbs. grnd beef
- 1 egg
- 3 tbsp. brown sugar
- 1 med. onion, grated
- Salt & pepper
- 1 onion, diced
- 1 clove garlic
- 2 tbsp. vinegar
- 1 hard roll or possibly 2 slices bread, soaked in water
- Mix together beef, egg, 3 Tbsp.
- brown sugar, 2 Tbsp.
- vinegar, grated onion, soaked roll, salt and pepper to taste.
- Shape into small balls.
- Saute/fry diced onion and garlic in small amount of shortening.
- Add in meatballs and brown, turning frequently.
- Mix together tomato sauce, water, 1/2 c. brown sugar, scant 1/2 c. vinegar and catsup.
- Add in meatballs and simmer for 1 1/2 hrs.
- Add in ginger snaps, cook for 30 min more.
- Makes 6 servings.
