Mussels Marinara
- 2 lb. mussels
- 1 cup white wine
- beer
- 1/2 sm. onion
- 2 cloves garlic
- 1 qt. marinara sauce
- 4 tbsp. olive oil
- Scrape mussels clean and mince the onion and garlic.
- In a tall pot saute the spices in olive oil until they are translucent (don\t burn the garlic).
- Add the wine and bring to a boil.
- Add the mussels, cover pot and cook till mussels are fully opened (discard unopened mussels).
- In a separate pot bring the marinara sauce to a boil, then pour it over the mussels.
- Turn heat off and serve over linguini or with garlic bread.
