Berries with Almond Cream & Amaretti

• 2 pints strawberries, hulled and halved
• 2 ounces Grand Marnier or another orange-flavored liqueur
• 3 tablespoons sugar
• 1 cup whipping cream
• 1 teaspoon almond extract
• 12 amaretti cookies, unwrapped and lightly crushed

1. In a medium bowl, douse the berries in the Grand Marnier and sprinkle with a tablespoon of the sugar.
2. Let the berries hang out to get their juices flowing.
3. Beat the cream with the remaining 2 tablespoons of sugar and the almond extract until the whipped cream forms peaks.
4. Serve the berries with whipped cream and amaretti for topping.
