Berries with Almond Cream & Amaretti
- 2 pints strawberries, hulled and halved
- 2 ounces Grand Marnier or another orange-flavored liqueur
- 3 tablespoons sugar
- 1 cup whipping cream
- 1 teaspoon almond extract
- 12 amaretti cookies, unwrapped and lightly crushed
- In a medium bowl, douse the berries in the Grand Marnier and sprinkle with a tablespoon of the sugar.
- Let the berries hang out to get their juices flowing.
- Beat the cream with the remaining 2 tablespoons of sugar and the almond extract until the whipped cream forms peaks.
- Serve the berries with whipped cream and amaretti for topping.
