South African Savoury Rice
- 1 cup white rice
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 1/2 tsp ground tumeric
- 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon or spice for rice.
- 2 1/2 cup water
- 1 mixed veg (optional)
- Pour water into a large pot.
- Add all ingredients.
- Bring to the boil and simmer 20-30 minutes.
- Keep checking to make sure water is above rice.
- You may have to add more.
- If there is still excess water in the pot pour it out carefully.
- Put it back on the turned off stove so excess water evapourates.
- Cover and keep warm.
